What it is

What is PokéDive?

A free browser roguelite where rescues build your town.

PokéDive is a free, non-profit Pokémon fangame that runs in your browser: a co-op dungeon-crawler action roguelite with a haven you build between runs. You dive into pixel-art dungeons, rescue lost Pokémon, fight in real time and bring everyone home. Nothing to download, nothing to buy.

Sometimes typed Pokedive, without the accent: same game. Expeditions start at level 1 with a fresh dungeon, rescued Pokémon move into your haven and take jobs, and eight seals open up more routes. English is one of 20+ languages, and the tagline says the rest. Open the game when you are ready.

Tips

PokéDive tips for deeper dives

Small habits that save runs; start with the how-to-play guide.

  • Dodge with purpose

Space dodges where you are moving and then recharges, so roll through attacks.

  • Aim the specials

Tap to auto-aim, or drag to place a special where the pack is thickest.

  • Spend this run

Roguelite upgrades vanish at the end of the run; keep what this dive needs.

  • Respect the rope

The Escape Rope keeps everything. Only fight the guardian when the stage is worth it.

  • Match types to jobs

A Fire type works the Quarry at full rate; most others manage half.

  • Catch duplicates

Repeat catches become Heart Scales for Dojo training, so no spare ball is wasted.

Haven

PokéDive haven and routes

Rescued Pokémon move into your haven and work in buildings that match their type. A Fire type works the Quarry at full rate; most others manage half. Build mode places the Quarry, Café, Kecleon shop, Dojo, Pokémon Center and shelter, each with job slots. The haven levels up, and the Pokédex separates seen from registered: registered means it has lived with you.

Routes are the long game: awaken the eight seals, learn each biome's guardian and chase the prestige track at floors 50, 100 and 250; prestige titles and aspects are cosmetic, never more power. The Escape Rope is your checkpoint: leave with everything or win and save the next floor as a stage. A co-op group must all have the stage saved to continue together.

  • Haven jobs

Type-matched jobs pay full rate; everyone else works half.

  • Routes and seals

Eight seals, each with its own biome guardian and blessing.

  • Escape Rope and stages

Leave with the loot or beat the guardian to save a stage.

  • Prestige

Cosmetic titles at floors 50, 100 and 250; never extra power.

What's new (November 2026)

  • Checked against the live game in November 2026; refreshed for this build.
  • Seasonal events rotate; check the game for what is running today.
  • A Route of Origin has been announced as coming soon.
  • Graphics, FPS, HUD size, fullscreen, reduced motion and keys are adjustable in Settings.

Co-op

PokéDive co-op and friends

It is solo-friendly, but built for small groups: you and up to three friends, four trainers in total. Friends can be invited in game, and a shared haven keeps progress for everyone. A group party pot pays for Kecleon shop purchases. Weekly challenges keep a group leaderboard, and the monthly ranking tracks total depth. More on the town is in the haven guide.

  • Party of four

Invite up to three friends and dive as a team of four.

  • Shared party pot

Pool coins in the party pot to pay for Kecleon shop purchases.

  • Weekly leaderboards

Separate solo and group boards every week, plus a monthly depth ranking.

Accounts

PokéDive accounts and saving progress

No account is needed: guest play is on the sign-in screen, you can save whenever you like, and a guest save can be linked to a full account later. Guest entry may show a Cloudflare Turnstile human check; that is normal.

Sign-in options are Google, Discord, or an email or username with a password. Saves live on pokedive.com, the official site. We found no documented password-reset email flow while checking, so keep passwords safe or use Google or Discord. An account saves progress and joins friends and rankings; there are no real-money purchases. The FAQ has short answers.

  1. Open the official game and choose Play as a guest.
  2. Pick Google, Discord, or email and password for a full account.
  3. Link the guest save so haven and Pokédex progress stay.
  4. Sign in with the same details on another browser.

FAQ

PokéDive FAQ

What is PokéDive?

PokéDive is a free, non-profit Pokémon fangame in your browser: a co-op dungeon-crawler roguelite with a haven-building meta game. Dive into changing dungeons, rescue lost Pokémon, build a town between runs and explore solo or with up to three friends.

Is PokéDive free to play?

Yes. PokéDive is a free, non-profit fangame with no purchases and no paid extras. It runs in the browser and is free for everyone. Nothing on this fan hub charges you either: we only link to the official game, where guest play costs nothing.

Do I need an account to play PokéDive?

No. Guest play is on the sign-in screen and needs no account. You can save your game whenever you like, and a guest save can be linked to a full account later. Accounts use Google, Discord, or email and username with a password.

Is it PokéDive or Pokedive?

Both spellings point to the same game. PokéDive is the official name, with an accent on the e. The plain spelling turns up in searches because keyboards drop the accent. The game lives at pokedive.com, with an English page at pokedive.com/en/.

Can I play PokéDive on mobile?

Yes. The game runs in a mobile browser and can be installed as a PWA for fullscreen play. Touch controls give you a left joystick, tap or drag specials and a grey dodge button. Rotate your phone to landscape: the game asks you to.

Does PokéDive have co-op multiplayer?

Yes. PokéDive is solo-friendly but built for co-op: dive with up to three friends, four players in total. Friends can be invited in game, the shared haven keeps progress for everyone, and a party pot pays for Kecleon shop purchases. Weekly challenges have group leaderboards too.

What are the default controls in PokéDive?

WASD or arrows move, Space dodges, 1, 2 and 3 fire specials, R is the Ultimate, E uses and talks, Esc opens the menu, B builds, H throws Poké Balls, P opens the Pokédex, L shows achievements and quests and F opens friends. Keys can be remapped in Settings.

Why does PokéDive open in a new tab?

Because the official game cannot be embedded here. pokedive.com sends a content-security policy that blocks framing, so an iframe would stay blank. Play opens the official English page at pokedive.com/en in a new tab instead. If the policy changes, this page can switch to an in-page player.

Is PokéDive an official Pokémon game?

No. PokéDive is an unofficial, non-profit fangame made by its own team, not by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures or GAME FREAK. Pokémon and its characters are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures and GAME FREAK. This fan hub is independent too: we are not affiliated with the team.

Do I need to download PokéDive?

No. PokéDive runs in a web browser: open the official English page and play. There is no download, installer or app-store version. On mobile you can install it as a PWA for a home-screen icon and fullscreen landscape view, but even that is optional.
